Collaborative Program: BUMDesma Wutemonuwo & PT Vale Indonesia Tbk
PT Vale Indonesia Tbk has partnered with BUMDesma Wute Monuwo through a program called the Community Development and Empowerment Program for Independent Rural Area Development (PKM PKPM). This initiative is designed to enhance the welfare of rural communities, with a particular focus on promoting equitable food security across all targeted areas. The participation of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk in this program reflects its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) — fulfilling its social and environmental responsibilities to villages impacted by mining activities. Not all villages fall under the scope of this empowerment program. The areas supported by PT Vale Indonesia Tbk include Towuti, Matano, parts of Nuha District, as well as Wasuponda and Malili. Within this collaborative framework, village operations in these areas are entrusted to the Joint Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDesma), whose management is appointed through inter-village deliberations.
